Key Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding current status and medical history. Collects and records nursing assessment and interventions. Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider. Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material. Provides psychosocial support to patients and families. Maintains patient confidentiality. Facilitates clinical operations and patient care: Manages patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and records the information in the patient chart. Assists physician with exams and procedures. Facilitates consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals and future appointments for patients. Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart. As necessary, facilitates communication between patient/family and interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care. Assist patients in locating available community resources. Inter-professional collaboration: Assist and collaborate with clinical research team as needed. Acts as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Provides nursing coverage for the satellite offices as needed. Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses. Participates in professional development activities and maintains current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities. Performs other reasonably related duties as assigned. SALARY LEVEL: $40-$60/hour Qualifications Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred. RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Must maintain continuing education requirements. Business Experience Five (5) years nursing experience. At least one (1) year of oncology experience. Specialized Knowledge/Skills Oncology certification preferred. How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. Communicate information to nursing staff, physician, health care unit supervisory personnel or other staff as necessary. Qualifications & Requirements Education Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Experience Prefer a minimum of one (1) year clinic experience Licenses/Certifications Have and maintain current licensure as a Registered Nurse within the state of employment.
