About this Job: General Summary of Position The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Duties may include venipuncture medication and vaccine administration measurement and documentation of vital signs and assisting providers with patient exams and telephone and clerical support. About this Job: General Summary of Position The Clinical Administrator is a member of MedStar Health entity-based Division of Nursing and leadership team. The role is accountable for directing and supervising clinical and administrative resources to ensure the provision of holistic culturally competent quality safe and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care for patients and families. Evaluates the effectiveness of bed turnover and communicates with Environmental Services as necessary. Monitors high risk patients and complicated conditions and institutes appropriate actions. Ensures compliance with unit divisional and hospital policies procedures as well as regulatory and accreditation standards. Prepares written documentation as required. Maintains required reports records statistics and notes. Receives and reviews preceding shift reports and notes patients' conditions when rounding on units. Coordinates department wide staffing patterns to meet safe and efficient staffing levels for each unit. Adjusts staffing to meet patient care needs and to provide adequate and fiscally responsible coverage of all units. Assists Nurse Leaders with unit/departmental staffing through coordination of float pool agency and per diem personnel. Supervises coordinates and evaluates patient care services interventions during assigned shift. Intervenes where necessary to assure optimal patient care outcomes by utilizing approaches and strategies that support and optimize outcomes. Takes action to support the National Patient Safety Goals nursing sensitive indicators regulatory requirements and other identified quality metrics. Maintains and demonstrates a professional patient-first atmosphere and an environment of coaching and development that supports shared decision making interdisciplinary collaboration and a high level of patient and associate satisfaction as evidenced by outcomes data. About this Job: Critical Care Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Launch Your Career in Critical Care Medicine The MedStar Health Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship is a one-year postgraduate training program (October–September) designed for new graduate Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants seeking comprehensive, hands-on training in Critical Care Medicine. As an APP Fellow, you will train alongside an interdisciplinary team at a large tertiary care hospital serving a diverse, high-acuity patient population. Through immersive clinical experiences, structured education, simulation, and dedicated mentorship, fellows develop the knowledge, procedural skills, and clinical judgment necessary to transition confidently into independent practice within Critical Care Medicine. Graduates of the fellowship will have the opportunity to pursue careers within MedStar Health's Critical Care programs. Fellowship Objectives By the completion of the program, APP Fellows will be able to: Develop comprehensive clinical expertise in a high-acuity, high-volume critical care environment. Build an advanced understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of common critical illnesses. Demonstrate proficiency in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of diverse critically ill patient populations. Strengthen communication, leadership, teamwork, and collaboration within multidisciplinary critical care teams. Prepare for independent practice across a wide range of Critical Care Medicine settings.
