ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Perform sexual assault examinations per Genesis HealthCare System policy when needed. 2. Attend education and training for the adult/adolescent sexual assault nurse examiner that grants a minimum of forty (40) hours of continuing nursing education contract hours from an accredited provider. 3. Attend education and training for the adult/adolescent sexual assault nurse examiner that grants four (4) hours of simulation (SIMS) training from an accredited provider. 4. Attend six (6) hours of courtroom observation. Courtroom schedule will be provided to on-call SANE RN staff by SANE clinical Coordinator. 5. Complete three (3) SANE exams 9SIMS or precepted). 6. Provide individual on-call availability to SANE coordinator in a timely manner to ensure that the on-call SANE schedule is up-to-date and available to Emergency Department Clinical Coordinators. 7. Provide on-call services, at a minimum, of four (4) twelve (12) hour shifts or two (2) twenty-four (24) hour shifts per month during the duration of their commitment agreement, which is two (2) years. 8. Provide on-call services for a minimum of one (1) twelve (12) hour holiday shift per year for the duration of the commitment agreement. Works independently with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Provides direct patient care in accordance with physician orders in a warm and friendly manner. 2. Takes and records measurements or readings. 3. Assesses condition and provides treatment for care of patient. 4. Administers prescribed medications. 5. Provides leadership while working collaboratively with other care givers on the unit. 6. Participates in keeping unit prepared for HFAP on an ongoing basis. 7. Assists with patient rounds. Additional duties for Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CPCU): 8. Demonstrates proficiency with critical thinking related to preoperative assessment and postoperative care of surgical patients 9. Demonstrates flexibility to accommodate work schedule and scheduled shifts to include equality of call coverage, starting early, late shift. 10. Proficient with specimen collection/documentation. 11. Completes documentation of daily unit maintenance checks. 12. Demonstrates proficiency with OPTIME/EPIC 13. Completes all mandatory competencies within posted time frames; i.e. moderate sedation, annual competency. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Current Ohio RN License and ADN. 2. CPR certification within 30 days of employment. 3. Ability to read, write and explain or describe moderately complex information to other hospital staff. 4. Attention to detail. 5. Ability to communicate well in an oral and written manner, as well as the ability to observe, assess, guide, and evaluate others 6. Ability to read, calculate and prepare medication, as well as the ability to observe and analyze any resulting reactions and to apply clinical knowledge. 7. Ability to collect data, interpret findings, set priorities and carry out established plan 8. Demonstrates competence in age-specific patient care. Additional qualifications for the following units : a. Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit: i. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) or obtained within one year of hire ii. Must complete Genesis phlebotomy training within one year of hire. b. Clinical Decision Unit: i. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) or obtain within one year of hire. c. Critical Progressive Care Float Pool (CPFP) i. Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (ACLS) or obtained within one year of hire ii.
