Join MD Anderson's Pediatrics - Child & Adolescent Center as a Clinical Nurse, Outpatient and provide specialized care to pediatric and adolescent and young adult (AYA) patients receiving treatment for hematologic and oncologic conditions. You'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families while delivering expert, compassionate care in an outpatient environment at one of the world's leading cancer centers. Summary The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Instructor Faculty for the position of Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. This position offers unique experience in a high-volume Pediatric Intensive Care Unit for an individual who wishes to pursue a career in Pediatric Critical Care. Texas Children's Hospital is one of the largest pediatric hospitals in the United States, comprised of 170 intensive care beds spread across four campuses and is the affiliated hospital of Baylor College of Medicine. The primary clinical site for this position is at Texas Children's Hospital, Medical Center Campus in Houston. The Division of Critical Care Medicine, in the Department of Pediatrics, is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of attending critical care physicians, advanced practice providers (Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants), postdoctoral fellows, and research support personnel committed to the care of patients suffering from a life-threatening illness or injury. Job Purpose Provides advanced patient care to patients in a clinical setting in an area of specialization under the direction of a physician. Job Duties Obtain detailed history and perform physical examinations. Perform, order, and interpret diagnostic studies in accordance with relevant health concerns of the patient. Prescribes appropriate pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Maintain records by writing orders and progress notes in patient charts to document patient status, treatments, and procedures.
