Job Description Harborview Medical Center RN3/Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM), 2EH ICU (Nights). This position reports to the Nurse Manager of the 2EH ICU and is responsible for assisting the manager in all aspects of hiring, educating and counseling nurses in these areas as well as being a role model for excellent patient care. Primary Job Responsibilities Assists the nurse manager in the recruitment and staff selection process for Medical Oncology ICU Team employees (primarily ICU RNs and other roles/positions/job classes ad hoc) Collaborates with Staff Development liaison and Critical Care educator(s)/CNSs to develop individualized orientation action plans for new employees. Coordinates orientation schedule for new staff including selection of appropriate units, and assignment of shifts. Assists with planning and implementation of continuing education programs for ICU Team staff. Designs and coordinates annual competency reviews for RN staff. Provides feedback and guidance to staff; observes and reviews staff performance. Identifies the individual capabilities of staff; provides counseling, instruction, or additional experience as needed; and consults with the nurse manager if further action is indicated. POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Nursing oversees all aspects of resident care and clinical services within the community, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance with state regulations. Establish and maintain the medication program. Hands-on training, supervision, and staff development. Communicate regularly with residents' families regarding healthcare needs, changes in condition, and address family concerns. Maintain current departmental policies, procedures, and licenses, in accordance with company, Federal, State, and local requirements. Ensure resident records and charting are current and up to date. Participate in the on-call rotation for nursing and clinical questions and emergencies. On-call responsibilities are shared with the Health and Wellness Director, who manages staffing-related issues Requirements CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Education and certifications: A degree in nursing and an RN nursing license in good standing. Additional coursework in management is an asset. Current state-required certifications, such as First Aid, CPR, and any other applicable credentials. Experience, Competencies, and Skills: At least three (3) years of experience in an Assisted Living/Memory Care setting is required. At least two (2) years in a supervisory/management role; experience with budgets, staff development, training, and scheduling. Experience in Memory Care is preferred. Outstanding organizational skills. Proficient in computer literacy and good knowledge of the Microsoft suite. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet the position's requirements, with the capacity to be on-call 24/7.
