Job Responsibility Manages and leads team members, operations and patient care activities within a patient care unit during assigned shift. Collaborates with team members and nursing management in the development of methods, techniques and analytical approach to patient care. Demonstrates core clinical competencies for patient population of oversight in order to supervise and provide direct patient care. Maintains current knowledge of scope and standards of practice, healthcare legislation, and population health. Interprets policies, procedures and technical methods for team members. Identifies opportunities and makes recommendations that improve patient care delivery and team effectiveness using evidence-based strategies and solutions. Performs related duties as required. Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is currently recruiting a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator) to plan, design, and develop training curriculum to improve the knowledge, skills, and abilities of nursing staff. As a Registered Nurse 3 (Psychiatric Educator), you would: Plan, design, and develop orientation and training curriculum for nursing staff; Provide on the job training Clinically supervise staff in the provision of nursing services Evaluate training needs and modify programs to ensure effective service delivery Collaborate with nursing management and multidisciplinary treatment teams to develop and revise policies and procedures and ensure staff competencies are current and in compliance with nursing standards Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program if they are: Licensed and currently registered as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and Bachelor’s degree in nursing; and 2 years of post-licensure nursing experience.
