Calls answering service when Physician cannot be notified. •Ensures testing systems provide quality laboratory services for pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic phases of testing •Utilizes verification procedures to determine accuracy, precision and quality performance of testing to produce accurate and reliable results. •Performs testing on samples from an approved proficiency testing (PT) program and attests that the PT samples are tested as patient samples. •Ensures that PT results are returned to the program in a timely manner and that all results are reviewed with the staff. •Ensures that results are reported with pertinent information required for interpretation only when all systems have been proven to be functioning properly. •Ensures effective communication of operations outside the norm. •Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance •Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards. •Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. •Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions •Wears proper identification while on duty •Perform other duties as assigned
