A Certified Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of supportive care services to patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Such services can be therapeutic or diagnostic procedures and/or administration of medication. The Lead CMA role provides clinical and administrative coverage for the Ambulatory setting, including the creation of daily staff schedules, performing service recovery, covering staffing gaps, and directing clinical flow.
