Prepares and stocks rooms (daily/weekly) and clinic supplies in advance of clinic visit as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients. Prepares for and assists with routine and specialty procedures. Schedules patients for follow up appointments or referrals and performs routine clerical duties for team and staff to include photocopying, scanning, and faxing. Performs telephone messaging and in person screening with appropriate follow up. Respects and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Registered or Certified as a Medical Assistant required from an accredited school. Two (2) years of clinical experience is required. Previous experience working in electronic medical records is required. Minimum of one year experience as LCH Medical Assistant preferred. Prior experience as medical assistant, patient care technician, or certified nursing assistant preferred. Excellent communication skills and customer service skills. Knowledge of techniques, procedures, and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions). Ability to work with clinical staff, work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to preventive health care programs and team approach to health care delivery. Strong typing and computer skills, including understanding of Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrates proficiency in all medical assistant duties and responsibilities. This job requires access to confidential and sensitive information, requiring ongoing discretion and secure information management. Bilingual/Spanish fluency preferred. Basic front desk, clerical, or support specialist skills/experience helpful. Phlebotomy skills preferred.
