RN (School Nurse) Needed Monday-Friday Weekly Pay! SUMMARY Under general supervision, is responsible for providing medical treatment, first aid, emergency care and medications for students in the school programs, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with company policies, the regulations and requirements of applicable regulatory agencies and the standards of the profession. Participates in consultative process with parents and team members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Licensed Practical Nurse - Children's Services will include, but are not limited to the following: Serves and participates as a member of interdisciplinary team. Is responsible for assisting Registered Nurse in coordinating and following through on provisions of health care services for students in program. Keeps progress notes under supervision of registered nurse for each student and summarizes for quarterly, semi-annual and annual reviews. Provides regular and PRN health care to students receiving services as instructed by registered nurse. Provides direct hygiene and health instruction to staff, students receiving services and families as required. Handles control of communicable diseases and infections through identification and assessment. Reports to consulting physician and Infection Control Nurse. Implements appropriate protective and preventive measures. Provides staff training in regard to infection control regularly and as needed. Provides first aid to students in need of immediate care, with referral to registered nurse, private physician or outside emergency services as necessary. Monitors required staff health records and provides tests in accordance with regulatory agency requirements. Keeps up to date and accurate records of examinations, immunizations, illnesses, accidents and other pertinent data of students via progress notes. Administers medications as prescribed. Supervises secured storage of medications. Refers all consults and diagnostic reports to registered nurse for review. Transports students to appointments as necessary. Maintains Nursing Office. Orders supplies and equipment as required. Visits students at home as requested by Director or designee. Keeps abreast of changes in Nursing Services field. Performs other related duties as requested. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Rehabilitation: Assists in ambulation, transfers, ROM exercises and good body alignment where indicated. Uses adaptive devices properly. Cooperates with all rehab disciplines. Keeps accountability sheets up to date with signatures as required. Has knowledge of proper procedure. Records results. Informs nurse of results. Assignments: Receives daily report from nurse. Assist in implementation and monitoring of quality studies including, but not limited to the development and implementation of preventive health and chronic disease outcomes improvement interventions such as newsletter article, member education and outreach interventions, provider education and outreach interventions, medical record review, focus studies and surveys. Perform monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc medial record reviews including regulatory compliance; Conduct quality of care investigations and using criteria closes case appropriately or refer to Quality Director for further review; prepares cases for Peer Review Committee. Educating members and providers on standards of care. Leading project initiatives to close gaps in care. Analytics and Strategy: Expertise in developing and executing data-driven approaches to enhancing business decision-making and improving operational performance (preferably in healthcare). Advanced knowledge of business intelligence best practices, familiarity with fact-based management tools and techniques to drive strategies and a continuous improvement culture. Communications: Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Ability to take abstract, complex and/or technical information and break it down for a variety of audiences in a way that is meaningful for them. Functional Oversight: Issue identification, gap analysis, ability to prioritize business needs and execute solutions. Financial Management: Ability to understand financial reports, develop basic financial models, and identify trends, variances, and opportunities. Minimum Education/Certification Knowledge of local and national quality management and regulatory standards, including reporting. Current unrestricted RN license in the state of New Jersey required. BSN degree preferred, MSN degree in Nursing preferred. Computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook required. Medical record review experience preferred. Knowledge of NJ quality management and regulatory standards preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills required. Project Coordination / Project Management experience preferred. Minimum Work Experience Required 1 years’ experience in quality improvement and/or utilization review in an acute care setting.
