Responds to patients presenting to the hospital for Pre-Admission testing by completing all necessary pre-operative testing, physician evaluation, and pre-operative patient teaching. Follows all documentation policies. Utilizes MediTech system for registering patients as needed, entering orders, allergies, and other patient information. Notifies the Medical or Department Director of any patients with complex medical conditions/needs or assessment information necessary to provide safe and appropriate patient care in a timely manner. Required Skills: Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing. At least 5 years experience as an RN, with 3, preferably in the Perioperative or adult acute care setting. RN, current in the State of Texas BLS Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment. Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit. Strong communication skills, verbal and written. The strong knowledge base of adult acute disease processes, including cardiac, respiratory, GI, neurology, and endocrinology-type diseases and medications.

This unit is a high acuity telemetry unit that signifies a reduced nurse to patient ratio. We have self-scheduling which helps with the work/life balance as well.
