Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for managing the individualized patient care by promoting and restoring patients’ health through the nursing process. The RN provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, evaluation, and patient health education within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Coordinates care in collaboration with members of the patient’s treatment team to provide assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation services. Performs physical exams, health histories, nursing assessment and routine observation for patients within established time frames. Provides direct patient care including administering medications, wound care, injections, intravenous infusions and other treatment interventions while operating standard critical care equipment safely and correctly. Recognizes and intervenes in life threatening emergencies, including the administration of emergency drugs, and defibrillator or other emergency treatment. Responsibilities Position Objective: The Regional MA Float is a clinical role and is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks. This role is a safety-sensitive position as it involves direct patient care and administering medication. The incumbent will report to the Office Manager (or similar role) at their home clinic and will also travel within their region providing physician support services while providing positive patient experiences. Responsibilities: Greet and prepare patients for provider examination by obtaining patient history, chief complaint, current medications, medical history, allergies, surgical history, family history, social history, and other preventative medicine reviews, take patients' vitals, and record information in the patient electronic medical record Assist provider with examination, treatments, and procedures as directed Maintain complete and detailed records, electronically in the EMR, of patients’ information Measure and record vital signs and record them in the EMR Accurately and professionally handle all front-desk operations, including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling appointments, addressing routine inquiries, and triaging calls Maintain patient medical records in accordance with the center's policy Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or providers’ instructions to patients Prepare both patient and room for examination Complete patient phone calls including, but not limited to, proactive care coordination, medication reminders, appointment reminders, transitional care management, and complete documentation with telephone encounters accordingly.
