You’ll collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, lactation specialists, and an interdisciplinary team in a modern NICU environment built around safety, excellence, and meaningful human connection. The 9AB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at TriHealth Good Samaritan Hospital is a specialized 60-bed unit dedicated to providing high-risk neonates with the level III NICU care they need. The unit is committed to a family-centered developmental care approach, ensuring that both the infants and their families receive the support they need during this critical time. The NICU provides highly technical care, including cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic monitoring, as well as ventilator support for neonates requiring specialized intervention. Staffing in the 9AB NICU is carefully structured to ensure optimal care for these vulnerable patients. Orientation for new staff in the NICU follows a Competency-Based Orientation (CBO) model, including an online didactic component. The orientation period ranges from 8 to 12 weeks, depending on the nurse's previous experience. NICU experience is preferred for new hires, but the unit is also open to new graduates who are eager to learn and grow. All nurses are required to complete the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and the S.T.A.B.L.E. program by the end of their first year of employment to ensure they are fully prepared to provide the highest standard of care. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Assists the clinical department and program office with the clerical duties associated with all aspects of medical record keeping, chart audits, DME management, aide scheduling and office support. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintains and updates patient admission files in PAS. 2. Completes admission audit and communicates issues/problems to the Clinical Director. 3. The Care Promoter 1 is an unlicensed medical professional cross-trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the medical centers running smoothly. The duties of Care Promoter 1 vary from setting to setting, depending on the size, location and type. In addition to administrative duties, Care Promoters perform clinical duties under direct physician supervision in accordance with state medical practice acts. The Care Promoter 1 is an integral member of a Physician-lead Care Team that is focused on providing excellent and comprehensive primary care for a specific population of patients. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Measures and records patient vital signs; records patient interview and medical history. Catalogs and communicates patient needs to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel. Prepares patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests; assists physician with exams; explains treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patient. Observes patients and reports any changes in patient conditions to the PCP, Clinician, Specialist and/or other clinical personnel. Perform non-critical medical and therapeutic procedures based on medical instructions. Collects phlebotomy and other lab specimens; performs basic waived lab tests. Prepares and administers medications; changes dressings, applies bandages, removes sutures and other first aid procedures; uses CPR skills when necessary, all under physician supervision. Maintains supplies, equipment, stocks and sterilizes instruments; practices OSHA safety standards; performs accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times. Processes patient phone messages, returning calls and routing them to other team members as appropriate; calls patients to obtain and relay pertinent information for the physician. Upon physician approval and authorization, calls in prescriptions to the pharmacy. Uses communication skills with appropriate medical terminology; and follows appropriate legal and ethical professional conduct; authorized individuals will use the ChenMed Rx system to support physician medication dispensing. Provides health coaching to a defined group of patients to support healthy lifestyle choices. Follows up with coached patients via weekly calls. Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion. Job Description The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. All care is provided based on the concepts inherent in the model of care for TCH which promotes an on-going partnership between patients and families and the team of healthcare providers. Responsibilities The Nursing Process Assessment - Demonstrates the nursing skills to complete a holistic assessment of the patient’s physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and education needs utilizing The Christ Hospital Professional Practice Model. Understands signs and symptoms and data related to the patient’s presenting needs and actual or potential nursing diagnosis. Recognizes and appropriately reports to the physician and charge RN pertinent abnormal data and changes in the patient’s condition. Utilizes appropriate handoff methods to collaborate with other healthcare team members to communicate pertinent data regarding patient’s physiological and psychological data. A MSN or DNP are not required but supersede the requirement for the BSN. JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Assists the clinical department and program office with the clerical duties associated with all aspects of medical record keeping, chart audits, DME management, aide scheduling and office support. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Maintains and updates patient admission files in PAS. 2. Completes admission audit and communicates issues/problems to the Clinical Director. 3. Inputs updates into current software system any information or changes relating to insurance, level of care, staff assignment and/or discharge. 4. Scans and files all paper clinical data, hand signed orders and consents into patient records. 5. Ensures plan of care/comprehensive assessment update/recertification are opened in a timely manner to allow staff to document their summaries prior to team. 6. Ensures plan of care/comprehensive assessment update/recertification are resolved once approved by Clinical Director or designee. 7. Tracks and emails as appropriate certification/recertification statements/POC/CA and all orders. 8. Runs unresolved orders report weekly to track unsigned orders. 9. Maintains patient on-call book. 10. Contacts physician office, hospital or nursing facility in a timely manner in order to obtain current information, signatures or any other information pertinent to the patient’s admission and their hospice chart. 11. Assists as needed with providing information necessary for annual report and other patient data which may be requested. 12. Receives visit logs from all staff. 13. Inputs all visit logs of staff not electronically documenting into current software system and compares visit logs to contact visit reports weekly. 14. Tracks and ordering durable medical equipment (DME) and medical supplies. 15. If requested, participates in team meeting and is responsible for ensuring all documentation and electronic records are present as requested at team meeting. 16. Responsible to maintain the team meeting sign-in sheet, and ensures that the team agenda is attached. 17. Responsible for closing clinical/bereavement charts, and preparing charts beyond thirteen (13) months so that they may be moved to off-site storage. 18. Communicates with the Clinical Director in order that the charts are sent to off-site storage. 19. Maintains and orders office supplies. 20. Schedules and coordinates the hospice aide daily assignments to ensure the patient receives the services the patient needs. 21. Performs intake tasks as assigned. 22. Registers staff/patients with vendors such as pharmacy/EMR/supply company as directed 23. Assist with human resource functions as directed. 24. Distribute satisfaction surveys and compile results. 25. Type letters, reports and other materials as requested. 26. Answers the telephone in professional manner and channels the call accordingly. 27. Interacts with other disciplines as needed to ensure support. 28.
