This role provides comprehensive patient care from admission through discharge, with a focus on perioperative management in the Cardiac Surgical ICU. The APP will manage ventilators, sedation, hemodynamics, and diagnostics, and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams. Clinical expertise in managing complex conditions such as shock, sepsis, respiratory failure, heart and renal failure, arrhythmias, and post-operative cardiac patients is essential. Responsibilities may include advanced procedures such as central and arterial line placement, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and point-of-care ultrasound. Additionally, the APP may sit on committees and participate in Quality and Process Improvement Initiatives. This is a 24/7 service requiring rotation through days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with regional cross-coverage at other hospital sites. Responsibilities The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
