Successful candidates will be expected to support the department's commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. This position provides a faculty appointment at the rank of Teaching Associate in the Department of Surgery with an anticipated start date in Fall 2026. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The existing CTICU APP team is now expanding in response to unprecedented growth. The Cardiothoracic Surgery Intensive Care (CTICU) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a member of the Cardiothoracic Surgery CTICU multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, residents, fellows, and RNs providing intensive care services to patients and families. The CTICU APP role promotes independent clinical practice within a highly collaborative and established team model and is well supported with dedicated 24/7 in-house CTICU intensivist support. Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent and collaborative patient management from admission to the CTICU through transfer of care to the acute care setting.
