The Adult Emergency Department consists of 55 patient care rooms including a rapid assessment unit, six trauma/resuscitation suites and separate rooms for infection isolation, care of immune compromised patients, and psychiatric consultations. In the general care area, 45 rooms are fully equipped with critical care monitoring capabilities. The six trauma/resuscitation suites are immediately adjacent to the ambulance bay. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity . You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. A staff nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient centered care that is outcome directed. Patient centered care principles and professional nursing practice standards provide the foundation for the nurse to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care provided. The staff nurse assumes the primary responsibility and accountability for all patient care personally provided and that provided by those directly under her/his supervision. Location: Chicago, Illinois Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Cardiovascular ICU Advanced Practice Provider Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL The Cardiac Surgery team at Rush University Medical Center is actively recruiting for a Cardiovascular ICU Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Heart & Vascular Service Line. Schedule & Shifts Rotating day and night shifts scheduled in 4-6 week blocks. 13-hour shifts, averaging 6 shifts over a 2-week period. Extra shifts (day or night) are available for those interested. Clinical Responsibilities Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including Cardiac Surgeons and an in-house night Intensivist. Deliver comprehensive care to cardiovascular ICU patients, supporting the post-surgical and critical care continuum. Qualifications APRN candidates must hold Acute Care Certification to be considered. Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Cardiovascular ICU is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Position Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable. CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
