Overview Registered Nurse, Operating Room Monday – Friday; 4x10 hour shifts, 6:00am – 6:30pm The Outpatient Surgery Center (OSC) At Dartmouth Hitchcock is a free standing center located on the DHMC Lebanon campus. The OSC operates eight operating room suites and is dedicated to providing care for adult and pediatric patients requiring same-day surgical procedures. The ultimate goal of the OSC is to provide the right care in the right place and the right time for our patients who seek our surgical services. The Registered Nurse is a key member of the surgical team who may function in a circulator or scrubbing capacity. Current services include ENT, orthopedics, plastic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, and general surgery. Outpatient Surgery experience preferred and the desire to work as a team member in an efficient, patient centered environment a must. Computer experience preferred as well as the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Overview O.R. Same Day Surgery Full-time, 4 x 10 hour shifts, Monday – Friday ! 6:00am - 8:30pm (staggard start times) Our Same Day Program is a very busy 34-bed unit where patients are efficiently prepared for their surgery or procedures. A typical day we care for 50-70 patients. We also provide post anesthesia recovery care for those patients being discharged home the “same day” as their procedure. On the main unit we serve patients from 15 years through adulthood and in our separate pedi periop program we care for patients 14 and under. Within our department is a regional block program where patients receive sedation by our moderate sedation trained nurses while being administered a preoperative block before going into the OR for most commonly a joint replacement. Preadmission Services that utilize our program include but are not limited to orthopedics, gynecology, plastics, ENT, vascular, urology, radiology, cardiology and thoracic surgery. We are looking for experienced nurses that are team players and want to work in a busy 34 bed Same Day Surgery Program (SDP). Shifts are 10 hours between the hours of 6:00 am and 8:30 pm. Nurses must have current acute care hospital experience. Critical Care experience and IV skills are a plus. Overview Remote Registered Nurse (RN) – Nurse Triage 16 hours per week Position Summary The RN – Nurse Triage provides high-quality, patient-centered care through telephone triage and clinical assessment. This role is 100% hands-on , responsible for assessing patient symptoms, determining the appropriate level of care, providing education, and ensuring timely communication with providers. The ideal candidate has strong triage, Med-Surg, and Primary Care experience, is proficient with Epic EMR , and thrives in an independent remote environment. Key Responsibilities Perform telephone triage using established protocols and sound nursing judgment. Assess symptoms, prioritize patient needs, and determine appropriate care or follow-up. Provide patient education, guidance, and reassurance as appropriate. Accurately document all patient encounters in Epic EMR in real time. Escalate urgent or emergent situations per clinic and organizational policies. Communicate effectively with on-call providers, clinic teams, and patients to ensure continuity of care. Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and patient satisfaction within the triage team. Qualifications Required: Active, unrestricted RN license (multi-state compact required). Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience with a strong background in triage, Med-Surg, and/or Primary Care . Proficiency in Epic EMR and remote communication systems. Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, documentation, and time management abilities. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Preferred: Associates degree required; BSN preferred Previous experience in remote triage, nurse advice lines, or outpatient/clinic settings. Schedule & Work Environment Day shifts; Weekends only.
