Provides direct resident care and transports residents to activities and appointments as time permits. Performs glucometer readings, EKG's and other testing as needed. Assists with direct resident care including bathing, feeding, making beds, toileting and transporting residents to appointments and activities. Actively participates in change of shift report concerning condition of residents and any unusual occurrences. Maintains accountability for counting narcotics at change of shift with another licensed nurse and reports any discrepancies upon first notice. Observes residents and answers call bells in a timely manner to respond to residents' care needs. Reports observations, changes, unusual conditions or reactions to supervisor or appropriate discipline in a timely manner. Takes appropriate action as requested or required by the situation. Notifies family of change in residents condition or hospitalization according to Masonic Village policy. Assist to identify resident needs and strengths. Assists in the development of the plan of care. Participates in resident care conferences as needed. Implements the plan of care and oversees care provided by assigned nursing personnel. What You Need as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) : Graduation from an accredited school of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.
