About This Role: Rowan's Piercing Studio Nurse, reporting to the Studio Manager, is dedicated to providing a safe, clean, and joyful ear-piercing experience. What you’ll do: \n Customer Service: Create magical and memorable customer experiences by combining top-notch clinical care with a celebratory atmosphere during each piercing session. Ensure customer's safety and comfort and smooth flow of customer care. Provide confident, clear, and professional communication with clients throughout their entire piercing experience. Create a comforting atmosphere for customers, easing their concerns to ensure a relaxed and confident piercing experience. Educate customers on aftercare, promoting Rowan's After Care to support healing and ensure their well-being. Conduct a thorough ear evaluation to find the perfect earring placement and offer personalized styling advice. Actively monitor the customer experience, quickly addressing and resolving any issues to maintain Rowan's clinical piercing standards. Maintain a sterile and aseptic environment at the nurse station and on the procedure tray, ensuring all surfaces, instruments, and supplies are clean and properly sanitized to prevent contamination and promote customer safety. Use your expert knowledge of skin care and infection control and prevention to provide professional and personalized piercing services. Studio Support: Collaborate with the Studio Manager to keep operations running smoothly and foster a joyful, celebratory atmosphere. Flexibility to fill shifts as needed. May mentor and train new nurses to uphold Rowan's Clinical Piercing Standards, including shadowing piercing services and observing customer interactions. Stay attentive to anything that could impact the customer experience, and quickly report any issues to management while collaborating to resolve them. Inventory and Supplies: Ensure all piercing stations, including the nurse cart, mayo stand, and nurse nook, are always stocked with the necessary supplies and ready for any customer needs. Ensure the safety and cleanliness of our services by sterilizing jewelry and needle piercing instruments. Studio Operations: Follow state, federal, and CDC guidelines closely to ensure a sanitary and safe piercing experience. Sales: Ensure high-quality performance to support key studio metrics, including revenue growth, efficiency in piercing services (e.g., piercings per hour), increasing average order value, and boosting sales. Educate customers on Rowan After Care, and the benefits of bringing home an extra pair of hypoallergenic, non-piercing jewelry to promote healing. Reporting and Communication: Quickly address and escalate operational concerns, ensuring clear communication with management and team members to implement solutions efficiently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Clinical & Care Coordination: Develop, implement, modify, and communicate all resident assessments and care plans. Supervise and support the care team (Med Aides, CNAs, Personal Care Assistants) to ensure compassionate, professional delivery of care. Monitor residents’ health conditions and communicate changes promptly to physicians, families, and leadership. Coordinate care with outside agencies (home health, hospice, therapy providers) as needed. Participate in prospective resident move-in assessments, resident/family care conferences, and respond to physician/clinician inquiries. Ensure changes in resident conditions are evaluated, reported, monitored, documented and followed up to assure interventions are implemented and outcomes achieved. Operations & Regulatory Compliance: Partner with the Executive Director to ensure appropriate staffing, training and scheduling within the care department. Create and maintain the monthly care-staff schedule in the electronic scheduling platform, ensuring adequate coverage based on state rules, regulations and departmental budget—including arranging replacement staff when necessary. May work in the capacity of caregiver and/or Medication Aide to meet staffing ratios and regulatory compliance. Conduct resident rounds to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care. Oversee medication-management systems: ensure medications are current, properly stored, properly disposed when discontinued, and in compliance with physician orders and regulations. Conduct quality assurance audits, infection control checks, incident follow-up, and support clinical aspects of state/federal survey processes. Audit resident records weekly to ensure documentation reflects compliance with regulatory care requirements, including interventions/outcomes. Audit medication carts weekly to ensure compliance with state and company guidelines. Pull compliance reports (e.g., MatrixCare/Yardi) daily and follow up on non-compliance areas. Maintain current knowledge of OSHA and state regulations; routinely monitor community compliance with regulations related to resident care. Participate as a member of the community’s leadership team; attend daily stand-up meetings with community leadership and conduct daily stand-up meetings with care staff to relay pertinent resident care and wellbeing information. Provide direct supervision of resident care staff: monitor performance, collaborate with the Executive Director on associate evaluations, coach and counsel associates and document corrective action as needed. Participate in activity programming for the special care unit. Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or upper management. Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (2-year or 4-year program). Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing with the State Board of Nursing. Experience & Skills: 2-3 years or more of experience working with senior adults and adults with cognitive decline is preferred. Medical Assistant, Pharmacy Technician or Medication Aide education or experience preferred. Basic knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and a strong desire to serve residents and families within the Special Care Program. Demonstrated effective communication skills (with residents, families, staff, community and state officials and the general public). Ability to work responsibly as part of a team as well as independently. Honest, ethical, fair, dependable; respects confidentiality and rights/privacy of others. Strong organizational skills and ability to re-prioritize daily tasks to accommodate fluctuating needs of residents and community. Strong documentation skills; high level of written and verbal communication proficiency. Proficient in basic office equipment and computer systems relevant to job performance.
