Job Summary: Provides nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse of physician/advanced practice provider. Utilizes observational skills to observe nursing intervention and assists medical staff to insure optimal care within established policies, procedures, and standards. Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse or provider provides nursing care in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies, and procedures. Demonstrates performance consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan of the organization. Demonstrates quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice and treats coworkers, patients, families, and all members of the health care team with dignity and respect. Essential Responsibilities: Exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, providers, and co-workers; shows courtesy, compassion, and respect; conforms to the critical service standards established for the department. Provides therapeutic patient care in accordance with the patients established by physician/advanced practice providers and/or a registered nurse within the scope of practice. Transcribes physician/advanced practice providers orders and directed by policy. Communicates directly with a registered nurse to institute changes in the plan of care; assists with and contributes to the development of a nursing care plan. Administer specified medication appropriately and accurately following the providers order and or standing orders within scope of practice. Executes treatments such as urinary catheterizations, placement of intravenous catheters, bladder irrigations and instillations, suctioning procedures, throat irrigations and enemas, and utilizing equipment as required. Adheres to infection prevention and control policies and procedures. Adheres to high level of disinfectant, point of use, peel packs policies, and procedures. Perform related patient care functions such as taking temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure readings, wound care, may instruct patient in various self-administered treatment or procedures; obtain specimens; assures correct culture collection. Assist physician/advance practice providers or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments by selecting and passing instruments, providing support and restraint to the patient, draping, and other assistance as directed or required. Within scope observes and documents patients condition by gathering signs, symptoms, and reactions to therapy, to identify unexpected and/or significant findings, initiates appropriate emergency procedures as necessary, and reports unusual conditions to the registered nurse/advanced practice providers as established by policy and procedure in a timely manner. May volunteer to start and maintain intravenous flow rate with Certifications, notifies registered nurse/advanced practice/physician of any problems. May discontinue IV therapy except intra-cath and central venous lines. May volunteer to start perform venipuncture/blood withdrawal with Certifications. Collects and processes specimens per policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Provides non-compoicated teaching following the registered nurse/advanced practice provider/physician plan for education. Report any identified learning needs and discharge barriers. Ensures cleanliness of nursing module/station, patient exam room, and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection, routine testing, and other related methods. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Utilizes effective verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. Performs in other departments or modules to which assigned as required by the nursing/department administration to provide and maintain the established standards of care and safety. Performs departmental back-office workflows including but not limited to proactive office encounter, successfully closing care gaps, patient outreach, access and/or nurse visits. Participates in staff meetings, and in-service programs. Assists in ordering and distribution/stocking of module/department supplies and equipment. Accepts verbal and telephone orders from the physician/advanced practice providers. Supports patient communication and message management including but not limited to patient emails, call center messages, and all other back-office messages. Administers pulse oximetry, humidification therapy, spirometer, oxygen therapy via mask or nasal cannula, oral, nasal, and trach suctioning, and sputum induction. Documents care in Health Connect per policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Performs other related duties as assigned and required, including orientation of new employees. Assists in coordinating the discharge process. Performs all job functions within license certification and scope of practice. Promotes, ensures, and improves customer service to internal/external customers by demonstrating skills which are consistent with the organizations philosophy of providing extraordinary customer relations and quality service. Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibilities (Kaiser Permanentes Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, accreditation, and licenser requirements (if applicable), and kaiser Permanentes policies and procedures. Age Related Competencies: Skills assessments and validations are utilized to ensure that employees providing patient care to specific age groups (i.e., infants, adolescents, elderly, etc.) are proficient in identifying the special needs and behaviors associated with a particular patient population.

Job Description Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse B-Perianesthesia demonstrates competency in procedural and perianesthesia nursing for stable, unstable, and fragile patients. Utilizes discretion and independent judgment to prioritize, coordinate, provide and document direct and indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. Performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory) to achieve individualized physical, psychosocial and spiritual wellness and provide compassionate bereavement support as appropriate. Functions in a skills mix environment and effectively supervises and delegates tasks to a team of licensed and unlicensed staff in accordance with level of competency. Applies solid theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in procedural and perianesthesia nursing and patient population served. Functions within the expectations of a professional nurse and meets nursing excellence standards to maintain Magnet Recognition as outlined by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Represents nursing as an empowered profession and embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements. Provides a positive influence to facilitate change and optimize patient satisfaction and outcomes. Engages in opportunities to directly and indirectly influence decision-making at point-of-care clinical practice by supporting or participating in professional governance councils, committees, task forces and staff meetings. Exhibits interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. May be required to participate in on-call rotation based on department business needs. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required for external hires. Exception(s) may be granted as follows: 1) if currently enrolled in a nursing bridge program (AS degree to DNP degree), proof of 25% program completion required. DNP degree to be completed two and a half years post hire date. Exception to completion date may be granted for extenuating circumstances; 2) if employed in a LLUH entity with an Associate or Diploma Degree at time of application, AS or Diploma degree is acceptable. Minimum of one year experience in nursing required (for 34152/UH: Radiology Procedural Care, experience must be in Intensive Care Unit (ICU)). The CN-B is eligible to be promoted into the CN-C classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP) handbook and job specifications outlined in CN-C job description are met. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates sound knowledge in procedural and perianesthesia nursing. Applies solid theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in the specialty practice of procedural and perianesthesia nursing. Basic knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation required. Exhibits professional behavior at all times and works calmly and responds courteously when under pressure. Able to: speak, read and write legibly in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, electronic medical record, electronic event reporting program; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical patient care activities; relate and communicate positively, effectively and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and enforcing policies; lead, supervise, teach and collaborate; accept direction; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; discern temperature variances through touch; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records and written documents necessary to position. Job Description Job Summary: The Coordinator-RN Electrophysiology (EP) Program is a highly experienced nurse specializing in cardiovascular diseases and related aspects of care for patients requiring specialized treatment and care to patients with cardiac arrhythmias and multiple complicated comorbidities who are undergoing invasive and non-invasive procedures, such as catheter ablations and cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) and other related EP treatments and procedures. Serves patients in the inpatient and outpatient environment in a patient-centered care model of practice in a Magnet Recognized large academic medical center with Level One Trauma Designation, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Receiving Center Designation, Chest Pain Center Accreditation, Advanced Certification in Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) and Comprehensive Stroke Center (CSC) Accreditation. Serves as a key member of the Cardiac Specialty and Mechanical Circulation Support (MCS) team and works collaboratively Structural Heart team comprised of Mitra Clip and TAVR, ECMO, ACHD, and LAAO medical directors and team physicians, Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and multidisciplinary team members. Understands the uniqueness of cardiac diseases and the sensitivity of communicating with patients facing the unknown of a serious critical illness. Intervenes as a patient advocate as appropriate. Evaluates EP and program candidates and coordinates access to care based on established criteria. Applies specialized EP case management and care coordination methodologies and practices to provide a seamless multidisciplinary approach to care across the continuum. Understands the uniqueness of cardiac failure and the sensitivity of communicating with patients facing the unknown of a serious cardiac condition. Demonstrates expertise in service recovery methodologies and capably resolves issues from dissatisfied customers. Intervenes as a patient advocate as appropriate. Ensures effective utilization of resources, optimal care coordination and the provision of cutting-edge quality care for this specific patient population. Maintains electronic EP database(s) as required for related program accreditation and tracking performance metrics. Builds meaningful reports and presents data to leadership team(s) and quality committees for a systematic and logical approach to the decision making process to improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, financial performance and customer satisfaction. Supports clinical and translational research activities and participates in Institutional Review Board (IRB) approved research that improves outcomes and quality of life for critical ill patients with cardiovascular disease and multiple complicated comorbidities. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in nursing required. Master's Degree in nursing preferred. Minimum of three years' experience caring for patients with cardiac diseases required. Cardiac intensive care nursing experience preferred. Job Description “Recruitment Incentive Bonus: may be eligible for $9,000 recruitment incentive bonus based on eligibility requirements.” Job Summary: The Clinical Nurse B - Inpatient utilizes discretion and independent judgment to provide, coordinate and document direct/indirect age-specific and developmentally appropriate quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Performs the nursing process (assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation) in accordance with LLUMC's established Professional Practice Model (Duffy's Quality Caring Theory). Embraces new knowledge, innovations and improvements in practice and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice and exhibits self-motivation to continually expand knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty and patient population served. Exhibits interpersonal skills that portray professionalism and maximize excellence in customer service and safe patient care. Functions in a skills mix environment and directly supervises and delegates tasks to licensed and unlicensed staff. Meets qualifications, licensure, certifications and competencies as defined in the unit/department-specific Plan for Providing Care. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN) required. If hired into the CN-B position prior to April 1, 2020, an Associate Degree or Diploma Degree in Nursing required. Minimum of one year experience required. New hires are eligible to be promoted into the CN-C classification when criteria outlined in the Clinical Nurse Ladder handbook and job specifications outlined in CN-C job description are met. Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrates basic competencies in clinical nursing. Ability to apply theoretical concepts to clinical practice and continually expands knowledge base and clinical skills with a focus in area of specialty and population served.
