Summary The Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant II to work within the Division of Vascular Surgery. The Medical Assistant will provide support to clinicians and patients before and after their appointments and will work directly with multiple providers to provide high-quality patient care. Job Duties Schedules patient tests, procedures, and appointments. Conducts patient outreach and post operative patient follow up calls. Manages in-basket messages and coordinates incoming patient referrals. Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED and completion of a Medical Assistant Training program through an accredited institution. Two years of relevant experience. The Experienced Clinical Nurse at MD Anderson Cancer Center manages patient outcomes by providing, coordinating and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care across the continuum of care.
