In this role, the successful candidate The Certified Lactation Registered Nurse is a member of the health care team who is knowledgeable, skilled and experienced in lactation and breastfeeding management and whose primary focus is the provision of education, assistance and support to breastfeeding women and children Job Responsibilities: Performs a complete assessment of the breastfeeding mother and infant. Analyzes assessment information to identify concerns and/or problems experienced by the mother and infant. Implements a plan of care for the breastfeeding mother and infant. Considers the needs and behaviors of specific patient age groups and cultures. Manages the Breast Pump Discharge Program to assure all mothers have a pump at home upon once discharged. Promotes own professional growth and development. Serves as a support and resource for the education of other health professionals. Educates parents on all aspects of infant feeding and assures all patients have discharge resources to support infant feeding after discharge. Assures compliance with standards and regulations promulgated by all applicable agencies. In conjunction with nursing leadership assures the Donor Milk program practices are compliant as per regulation Participates as a member of the Women and C Services Quality and Performance Improvement Councils. Minimum of 2 years Certified Lactation RN experience. Evidence of excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and creative problem solving ability..
