Description Position Summary: Provides direct and individual nursing care to assigned residents based on nursing standards and under the supervision of the Director of Resident Care (DRC). Also maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations and the standards of HRA. Essential Functions: Ensures quality and safe delivery of health services to residents Implements plan of care formulated by physician and DRC Provides accurate and timely documentation of care given Assesses and provides resident and family/care giver information pertinent to diagnosis or plan of care Administers medication per physician orders. Documents properly on MAR. Observes for any adverse reaction and notifies physician accordingly Assembles resident charts, resident records and checks that all necessary forms are complete and accurate Prepares incident/accident reports for residents as needed per policy. Notifies physician and family post incident/accident per policy and documents appropriately Maintains safe and healthy working environment and uses safe work methods and procedures in accordance with clinical standards Assists resident in learning appropriate self-care activities Organizes and monitors associates and material resources necessary for meeting the needs of the residents under his/her care Recognizes emergencies and life-threatening situations and initiates appropriate action(s) Maintains confidentiality and resident rights regarding all resident personal information Performs any other duties requested by supervisor The ability to work in a safe and alert manner The ability to take ownership for associate’s safety and the safety of the residents Must disclose any medication that might impair associate’s ability to perform the job safely or competently. Responsibilities We are actively hiring for an Registered Nurse (RN) PreOp PACU. Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA . Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status at intervals according to facility or health care organization policies and procedures to include the patient’s cardiovascular system, respiratory system and airway management needs, neurological system, hemodynamic stability, pain and comfort needs, and mental status. Interpret information accurately from various noninvasive and invasive monitors. Describe the underlying pathophysiology of commonly encountered disease processes. Describe the physiology associated with various anesthesia techniques and surgical or procedural interventions. Apply the relevant scoring system/discharge criteria for patient transfer ( e.g. , Aldrete Score, Modified Aldrete Score [ i.e. , PARSAP], Post Anesthesia Discharge Scoring System [PADSS], White) score accurately as defined by organizational policy. Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care. Implement the plan of care including the following interventions: Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – general. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – monitored anesthesia care. Preparing for and managing patient recovery from anesthesia – regional.
