Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the customer, as well as the customer’s response to the care. Complete required assessments upon the customer’s admission, transfer, and/or discharge. Receive telephone orders from physicians and record on the Physicians’ Order Form and P.O.S. Record new/changed diet orders. Forward information to the Dietary Department. Perform routine charting duties as required and in accordance with our established Charting and Documentation Policies and Procedures. Responsible for completion of admission, discharge, and transfer processes. Prepare and administer medications and treatments if appropriate as ordered by the physician. Review medication record for completeness of information, accuracy in the transcription of the physician’s order, and adherence to stop order policies. Administer professional services such as: catheterization, tube feedings, suction, applying and changing dressings/bandages, packs, colostomy, and drainage bags, care of the dead/dying, etc., as required. Participate in the orientation of new customers/family members to the facility. Arrange for diagnostic and therapeutic services, as ordered by the physician. Notify the customer’s attending physician and family when there is a change in the customer’s conditions. Obtain sputum, urine and other lab tests as ordered. Overview • Department: Cardiology, Cardiac Cath Lab • Schedule: Days, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m with a 30‑minute on call response time requirement • Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital • Location: Evanston, IL 60201 Responsibilities Provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. Communicates with physician continuously and as needed about patient condition. Assists with the maintenance of equipment and inventory. Assesses procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness. Obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team are met. Monitors physiologic and hemodynamic data, as related to diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. Monitors and records patients condition continuously while in the Cardiovascular lab. Participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN); preferred. 2. Active state Registered Nursing (RN) License; required. 3. Current BCLS (AHA), ACLS certificate upon hire and maintain current; required. 4. One (1) year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area; required. SCHEDULE: Typical shifts are 0630-1500 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : The delivery of patient care through the framework of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis and patient outcome) in the preoperative, interoperative and postoperative phase of the surgical patient. EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current Registered Nurse License Current American Heart Assn. BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications Minimum one year in the OR.
