Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and medical histories on GI patients in the hospital • Call responsibility involved- to be discussed during interview• Order and interpret diagnostic tests related to gastrointestinal conditions.• Manage chronic GI disorders such as GERD, IBD, IBS, liver disease, and more.• Collaborate closely with GI physicians in outpatient and inpatient settings.• Perform follow-up care and education for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.• Provide pre- and post-procedural counseling and medication management.• Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system. Qualifications • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Illinois.• Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP.• Minimum of 1–2 years of NP experience, preferably in a GI or internal medicine setting.• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and patient education skills.• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Overview Join Affiliated Oncologists as a Nurse Practitioner! * We are looking to hire a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for our OLYMPIA FIELDS, IL location. This position is Full-Time and In-Person . This role will specialize in Hematology-Oncology . AO specializes in treating a variety of cancers including lymphoma lung, breast, prostate, gynecologic, colorectal and head and neck cancers. Our physicians and staff are multi-disciplinary team of highly experienced caregivers focused on helping patients and their families receive the best care and support possible. SCOPE: Under supervision or in collaboration with practice physicians, involved in the care of individuals, families and patient groups who are dealing with cancer or other related diagnosis. This care may be in clinic or virtually, via telemedicine. Responsibilities may include duties related to prevention, screening, patient care, management, and research. May serve as direct caregiver, health care consultant, patient educator, administrator, or researcher. Ensures compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards and requirements. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner. Previous oncology experience strongly preferred. RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state required. Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner required. Current basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.
