Job Description Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Oncology Physician Practice Position Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of the multidisciplinary surgical oncology team, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout the continuum of surgical cancer treatment. The RN collaborates closely with surgeons, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care, provide education, facilitate treatment planning, and ensure exceptional clinical outcomes. This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, compassion, and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Clinical Care Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and triage patients in person and by telephone. Evaluate patient symptoms and determine appropriate interventions or escalation of care. Monitor patients before and after office-based procedures. Review laboratory, pathology, and imaging results, communicating findings and provider recommendations to patients. Coordinate preoperative and postoperative care for surgical oncology patients.
