Provides general nursing care to patients in an ambulatory setting or clinical practice. Provides nursing service to patients and families in accordance with the standards of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse, Connecticut Children’s policies and procedures, State and federal regulations. Administers spirometry procedures as directed. Triages phone calls within the LPN scope of practice. Deferring triaging, assessments and teaching to the registered nurse or to the provider or RN, when outside scope of practice. Facilitate the flow of patients within the clinical practice. Knowledgeable on the pediatric and adolescent vaccine schedule Assist with a variety administrative task including but not limited to the following: Answering Phones. Completing prior authorizations. Provides personal care and related homemaking duties for the adult client with short-term rehabilitation, and care of the sick during terminal stage of life. The Home Health Aide is responsible for communication of the implementation of the plan of care and reports changes in the clients’ status. The client’s home setting may be a private residence, assisted living or skilled nursing facility. The Home Health Aide consistently follows the McLean mission and code of conduct. JOB COMPETENCIES: 1.
