Job Purpose: The Director of Nursing assumes authority, responsibility, and accountability for the delivery of nursing services in the facility. Works collaboratively with physicians and managed care companies on concurrent denial appeals e. Communicates clinical information to the payor, as needed, coordinating direct communication between physician and payor Medical Director as required. f. In psychiatry, the CM will document UR notes in the medical record as per OMH guidelines. 4. Discharge Planning: a. Responsible for assessment, communication and monitoring of discharge planning process (The clinical nurse initiates the discharge planning process on admission). b. Obtains authorizations from managed care companies for post-discharge services. c. Assesses for clinical readiness and completes the Hospital and Community Patient Review Instrument (PRI) for patients requiring Residential Health Care Facility placement. d. Liaison with financial department for current insurance coverage. 5. Collaborates and participates in the appeals process with all members of the interdisciplinary team. 6. Collaborative Relationships: a. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with interdisciplinary team and Case Managers within the managed care organizations. 7. Job Description As a Registered Nurse , you will be responsible for providing patient support and communication and facilitating an exceptional patient experience to build and reinforce satisfaction, trust, and drive organizational loyalty. Accountable for welcoming and preparing the patient for their appointment, the Medical Assistant informs patients of relevant and required information for their visit and provides clear communication around the services they are scheduled to receive. How you can make a difference as a Registered Nurse: Demonstrates kindness and compassion in all patient interactions Prepares and administers PO, IM, and ID medications as directed by the Provider, utilizing the “Rights of Vaccine or Medication Administration” Performs point-of-care laboratory tests, EKGs as ordered or indicated, and suture/staple removal, and dressing changes, and other patient care activities Collects and documents vital signs, histories, and screenings Provides instruction to the patient regarding medications and diet Authorizes prescription refills as directed Prepares patients, room, and supplies for visit or examination Performs phlebotomy and correctly processes specimens Cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment Performs quality controls and equipment checks.
