Responsibilities Administers medications to residents in accordance with the rules and regulations governing the licensing and functioning of Residential Care Facilities. Certified Residential Medication Aides (CRMA) perform these tasks as ordered by physicians, under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations, and consistent with facility policies. Performs routine daily tasks required to maintain the health, comfort, and well-being of residents. Functions within the constraints of established policy and procedure consistent with accepted/allowed standards of practice and state and federal regulations. Working contacts include: residents, residents’ families, medical professionals and other facility staff. Is assigned responsibility/authority for decisions specific to assigned functions under the direction of a licensed nurse, but may seek additional direction from the charge nurse, nurse supervisor, director of clinical services or administrator as may be appropriate. Performs resident care when not being utilized as a CRMA. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. 2. Must have a Residential Care Specialist 1, or Personal Support Specialist (PSS) Certificate. May be trained within 4 months of employment. 3. Must have state approved 40-hour certificated medication administration certification. 4. Previous experience in long-term care resident care is preferred. 5. Must possess basic mathematical skills to be able to accurately administer proper medication dosage. The Registered Nurse - Acute Care role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Unique to Bean 5, the 8 bed IMC includes our Assisted Ventilator Unit. The patient population on Bean 5 is vast and includes specialties of acute on chronic states, respiratory failure, complex vascular, general surgical and neuroscience conditions, sepsis and multisystem organ failure. RN’s providing care in the Bean 5 IMC/AVUdemonstrate astute assessment and critical thinking skills, as patients in IMC may have multi-system issues that require continuous monitoring, medication drips, frequent interventions, and higher level respiratory support.Within our Assisted Ventilation Unit (AVU) patients may be requiring acute and/or chronic ventilator support. With a focus on ventilator weaning, nursing interventions require frequent assessments and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
