Qualifications/Required Experience Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts CPR Certification required. Several years of experience in a substance abuse or psychiatric setting. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work 12-hour shifts and must be available to work weekends and have schedule flexibility. Education & Licensure Registered Nurse (RN) credential in Massachusetts required. CPR certification required and must be maintained during employment. RN in the state of MA CPR Certified Multiple years of experience in a substance abuse or psychiatric environment Strong communication skills required (verbal and written) Ability to work 12-hour shifts AND MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS/ FLEX Working in a treatment center provides unique advantages compared to a hospital environment. Nurses here often experience a lighter physical workload, as the pace is generally less intense than in a hospital’s high-demand units. The environment is more structured and consistent, allowing for deeper connections with patients over their recovery journey rather than fast turnover. This setting also creates a less physically demanding role, reducing strain on the body while still offering the fulfillment of providing critical care. Many nurses find that this balance leads to greater job satisfaction, reduced burnout, and more time to focus on meaningful, client-centered care.
