This position is approximately 50% clinical patient care and 50% nuclear stress lab responsibilities. Nurse Practitioner - Cardiology - Staten Island- Brooklyn Medical Group Clinical Patient Care : Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care in collaboration with a board-certified cardiologists. Perform history and physical exams, manage chronic cardiovascular conditions (e.g., hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation), order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. Adjust medications, provide patient education, and coordinate follow-up care. Document thoroughly in the electronic medical record. Nuclear Stress Lab Duties : Prepare patients for nuclear stress testing (exercise and pharmacologic). Explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients, addressing questions and concerns. Administer and monitor pharmacologic stress agents (e.g., regadenoson, Adenosine) . Supervise and assist with patient monitoring during stress testing, including IV placement, vital signs, and ECG monitoring. Work closely with the attending cardiologist, nuclear medicine technologists, and nursing staff to ensure safe and efficient test completion. Assist with preliminary reporting and quality assurance as needed. This is a full time position located in Staten Island, NY. The schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM (must be flexible) One Saturday a month required. Preferred Criteria Prior experience working in an outpatient cardiology practice or stress lab. Comfort with IV starts and cardiac rhythm interpretation. Strong communication skills and ability to educate patients effectively. Our 16‑bed ICU/CCU and 10‑bed Stepdown Unit care for a diverse, high‑acuity patient population, including surgical, respiratory, cardiac, oncologic, neurologic, and multisystem conditions. The CCU is supported by an intensivist‑led physician team that provides progressive, research‑driven, and highly engaged clinical partnership. Both the CCU and Stepdown Unit benefit from strong operational support, including PCTs, dedicated Health Unit Coordinators, a Mobile Vascular Access Team for peripheral and central line procedures, and four Clinical Leaders who serve as readily available resources. The Clinical Leader facilitates culturally sensitive patient care from pre-admission through post-discharge by managing, coordinating, and monitoring resources to achieve optimal clinical and financial outcomes, resource utilization, and quality service. Able to verbalize and demonstrate proper rationale and techniques surrounding all aspects of indwelling urinary catheter care as per policy # 4668. Fulfills the requirements for competencies and completion of annual mandatories surrounding indwelling urinary catheters. Takes a patient assignment when necessary. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing required or must be obtained within 3 years from date of hire (or internal transfer) as a condition of employment. A minimum of two years experience in ICU/CCU as an RN required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Current NJ RN License required. BLS & ACLS Certification required.
