Short Description The Virtual Registered Nurse (VRN) is a professional caregiver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who helps oversee and provide care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. The VRN role advocates for patients and supports bedside staff, facilitates learning, aligns practice with safety and quality and engages in professional development. The virtual nurse will work both collaboratively and independently on the care processes available via the technologies available, including the use of available artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
