Staff Nurse-Med/Surg FT and PT Openings

Under general supervision, assumes 24-hour accountability to plan and provide direct professional nursing care for specified patients throughout the entire episode of service delivery as defined by population and unit. Provides nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the standards of practice of a professional nurse, Connecticut Children’s policies & procedures, Joint Commission, and State & federal regulations. Part-time and full-time positions available on the following units: MS6 MS 6 provides care to both medical and surgical patients and specialize in the care of children with complex gastrointestinal, orthopedics, general surgery and nephrology conditions as well as eating disorders. MS7 MS 7 is a medical surgical floor with 28 beds where our average patient turnaround and length of stay is between 24 hours to 3 days. We specialize in the care of children with complex Neurology, Cardiology, Pulmonary and Urology conditions as well as other general medical ailments. MS8 and ACGT MS8 is a 27 bed, inpatient floor. Our team works closely with multiple specialty areas to provide compassionate care, innovative treatment options, and novel clinical therapies to children and young adults affected by cancer and blood disorders. Our staff are provided a strong foundation for caring for this population by offering both Hem/Onc Foundations classes and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy classes. Advanced Cellular and Gene Therapy (ACGT) is a six bed unit operating in partnership with MS8 through a shared nursing staff and integrated model of care. The Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) RN Coordinator is responsible for coordination of the evaluation and preparation of patients for Hematopoietic Stem Cell (HSC) transplantation and cellular therapies.
