Summary The Organ Recovery Center Specialty Nurse provides nursing care to deceased organ donors and patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The Organ Recovery Center Specialty Nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care. In the event that the Donor Care Center has a low daily census, the Organ Recovery RN 2 will be assigned to a limited number of pre-transplant related tasks which could include pre transplant tasks such as regulatory paperwork for transplant patients. This position will only float within the Transplant Service Line. Other Information Required Job Qualifications: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure required. Maintain current BLS certification. Earned nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher (except RN1s hired and already working at Rush University Medical Center before October, 2012).
