Caregivers may not sleep on the client's couch, recliner, bed, chairs, floor, or other household furniture. Caregivers may not use the client's blankets, pillows, bedding, or other personal belongings for sleeping or personal comfort. The fact that the client may be sleeping does not mean the caregiver's responsibilities stop. Overnight responsibilities may include: Regular client checks according to the care plan. Incontinence and personal care. Repositioning. Hydration. Toileting assistance. Safety monitoring. Laundry. Light housekeeping. Preparing the client's environment for the following day. Completing required documentation. Responding promptly whenever the client requires assistance.
