A Brief Overview The Monitor Technician/Nursing Assistant continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies and interprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients. The Monitor Technician/Nursing Assistant is also responsible for direct patient care services as assigned by the Clinical Director and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. What you will do Perform routine patient care and support services under the supervision of a registered nurse. Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms of assigned patients through continuous surveillance. Integrate education and technical competence to gain patient cooperation and confidence. Exercise sound judgment and clinical skills to support the patient's plan of care. Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and hospital policies to ensure patient privacy and safety. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and patients. Recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action. Manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments in a dynamic environment. Build collaborative relationships with peers and staff to achieve departmental objectives. Education Qualifications High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology, Nursing Assistant or Monitor Tech course preferred. May substitute 2 years previous specific work experience with medical terminology for the Medical Terminology course certification. (Example: HIM Tech, Paralegal, Medical Biller, Medical Secretary, Patient Access Representative) Required or High School Diploma with completion of approved course of study for Nursing Assistant training or successful completion of fundamentals semester of Nursing school preferred. Experience Qualifications Monitor Technician/Nursing Assistant or relevant experience in a related health care field Preferred Skills and Abilities Demonstrated knowledge of basic patient care skills, various medical terminology, views, and equipment. Ability to recognize an emergency and take appropriate action. Written and verbal communications skills to communicate with fellow team members, supervisors, patients, and other personnel. Responsibilities House Supervisor (RN) 7a-7p full-time Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital , located near beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC, treats adolescents, adults and senior adults in need of psychiatric services, as well as adults who suffer from a chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, or are in need of rehabilitation. Lighthouse offers 24-hour admissions, needs assessment, and referral services. LBHH is seeking dynamic Nurse Supervisors (RN) for day shift 7:00am - 7:30pm. As Nurse Supervisor you are directly responsible to the Director of Nursing and Nurse Manager for quality care to psychiatric patients, residents, family members and all customer groups. Exercises independent judgment supervising the staff involved in providing nursing care and in the oversight of clinical areas during after- hours. Works closely with all members of the treatment team and keeps both the physicians, Administrator-On-Call (AOC) and DON informed of issues that arise.
