Obtain detailed sleep histories and assess sleep-related symptoms and risk factors. Diagnose and manage common sleep disorders in collaboration with physicians and other members of the care team. Review and interpret sleep study results, including polysomnography and home sleep apnea testing, within the scope of training, credentialing, and applicable regulations. Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education regarding sleep disorders and treatment options. Manage and follow patients receiving PAP therapy, including CPAP and BiPAP. Evaluate PAP compliance, efficacy, mask issues, and treatment-related concerns. Manage medications when clinically appropriate and within scope of practice. Provide counseling regarding sleep hygiene, behavioral interventions, weight management, and other lifestyle modifications. Monitor treatment response and adjust management plans as appropriate. Coordinate care with sleep physicians, primary care providers, dentists, behavioral health professionals, durable medical equipment providers, and other specialists. Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records and clinical documentation. Participate in quality-improvement initiatives and ongoing professional education. Provide compassionate, accessible care while maintaining high standards of clinical quality and patient safety. Qualifications Current APRN/NP or PA license in the applicable state. Board certification as an Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. Graduate degree from an accredited NP or PA program. Current BLS certification. Appropriate state prescribing and controlled-substance credentials, as applicable. Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
