Description Staff Nurse - Med/Surg (General) - Mount Sinai West - Part Time (30 Hours) - Nights - 7pm to 7:30am - Plus every other weekend. Responsible for the care activities and goal achievements of assigned patients by assessing, diagnosing, planning and intervening in actual or potential health problems and evaluating patient's response to care. Responsible health teaching and discharge planning. Acts as a member of a designated care team and collaborates, coordinates and guides team members in planning patient care activities. PURPOSE AND SCOPE: Functions as the hemodialysis team leader in the provision of chronic hemodialysis care and treatment. Provides day to day direction and supervision to assigned direct patient care staff. Responsibilities The Nursing Assistant in the Behavioral Health Unit is an unlicensed non-certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit. Qualifications EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, preferred. 2. Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current. 3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology. 4. Minimum six months of previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician's office preferred.
