It is a 12-bed unit with private rooms incorporating aspects from our Intensive Care Unit that improve nursing satisfaction such as: ceiling lifts to assist with safe patient movement and supply carts in every room to streamline care. The unit will have substantial telemetry monitoring and a medication room to promote safe patient care. About the Job: The Resource Nurse directly oversees and serves as an immediate, first line clinical resource to staff on a designated unit and shift. The Resource Nurse demonstrates well developed clinical competencies appropriate to specialty area when providing direct patient care or guiding other staff. Functions as an integral member of the unit’s management team and works to ensure smooth real time operations of unit on assigned shift and adheres to values under the EHS Professional Practice Model which guide all dimensions of practice. Serves as the designated shift resource for assigned new graduate nurses during their first year of employment, beyond their precepted orientation period. Assist with insertion of Flow wire, Opsens and IVUS. RN must demonstrate contraindications and reversal for IV adenosine infusion. Demonstrates a working knowledge of hemodynamic waveforms. Obtains the ability to monitor arterial waveform during left heart catheterization. Able to identify damping and ventriculization of arterial waveforms. Able to correctly identify different hemodynamic waveforms during right heart catheterizations.
