Overview Provides high quality comprehensive nursing care to meet the needs of the patient/client and manages/coordinates the delivery of cost effective multidisciplinary health care services for a caseload of patients/clients consistent with VNS Health philosophy, policy, goals and objectives, and Standards of Nursing Practice. Consults with management on complex/unique reimbursement cases. • Acts as the coordinator of care for the multidisciplinary team by providing and managing the care needs of patients/clients which includes making/confirming referrals to other disciplines/community agencies and ordering supplies/services and ensuring they are delivered as needed. • Documents content and process of all services provided in accordance with government regulations/requirements, and VNS Health policies, practices, and procedures, as well as NFP requirements as appropriate. Day (United States of America) Department: 300 - 840100 PPP - Clinic - Endocrinology Care Position Description: The Clinic RN will provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of patient needs. The Registered Nurse (RN) actively engages in patient and family education and demonstrates leadership by collaborating with clinical staff and interdisciplinary team members to uphold professional standards of nursing practice within the clinical environment. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize physical, emotional, and educational needs. • Formulate nursing diagnoses and care plans based on assessment findings. • Administer medications and perform treatments per policy, maintaining safety and infection control standards. • Monitor patient conditions and treatment effectiveness, initiating timely interventions and communicating with providers as needed. • Educate patients and families, ensuring understanding of care plans, procedures, and psychosocial needs. • Interpret and execute physician orders accurately, seeking clarification when necessary. • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and medications, adjusting care based on patient response. • Oversee and guide nursing assistants and technicians to ensure high-quality care delivery. • Prioritize patient care tasks and manage competing demands using sound clinical judgment. • Ensure timely completion of documentation, shift reports, and execution of ordered procedures. Qualifications: 1. Current licensure to practice as an RN in Louisiana is required. 2. One (1) year of physician office practice experience is preferred. 3. Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred. 4. Familiarity with professional billing is preferred.
