The Float Pool RN provides professional nursing care in alignment with national standards, company guidelines, and the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Monitoring labs, facilitating dose modifications per protocol, and consulting with providers for orders. Managing triage calls, symptom management, and medication management with accurate documentation. Assisting patients in accessing community resources. Following the Nursing Float Pool Playbook for role- and assignment-specific expectations. Qualifications What We’re Looking For : Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred). 1–5 years of nursing experience ( Oncology strongly preferred ). Entry, mid, or senior-level candidates welcome . Current and active RN license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Flexibility, adaptability, and strong interpersonal skills to thrive in diverse clinical environments. Preferred Skills : Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) or prior oncology/infusion/radiation experience. Strong IV and central line skills. Excellent critical thinking and communication abilities. Location: Moody Outpatient Center 3rd Floor Garland Clinic Primary Purpose Performs various optometric pre-testing procedures, including reviewing patient's previous records, obtains and documents patient medical/ocular history, review of systems, chief complaint, preliminary testing, and select supervised testing. Critical thinking skills will be utilized to ensure every patient transfer promotes the well-being and safety of the patient Tracks and trends barriers to patient intake flow; makes recommendations and develops action plans to improve processes and systems Participates in daily bed management meetings when working in the CPP function of the transfer center (possibly virtual) and effectively communicates resources and issues to appropriate area of each facility Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory requirements such as EMTALA, HCA Ethics and Compliance policies, and quality initiatives; monitors self-compliance and implements process changes to ensure compliance to such regulations and quality initiatives Recommends process change if needed to create a more efficient customer centered process Utilizes other team members and their experience and background when applicable to ensure best plan of care for the patient What requirements you will need: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred Minimum of 3 years’ related clinical experience in an acute care setting (ED or Critical Care preferred) RN License in the states where the HCA facilities for that Division are located – multi-state license required if Transfer Center covers more than a single state (may be obtained upon hire) Knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital and clinical operations and patient care practices Demonstrated skills in problem solving, analytical and critical thinking, prioritization, negotiation, conflict resolution, proactive decision making Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and electronic formats Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Obtain knowledge of state and national rules and regulations, including EMTALA Must be independent, driven, self-motivated, and passionate with an exceptional work ethic, integrity and presentation skills, both oral and written Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant databases Ability to work independently and under pressure to follow through on issues Ability to work effectively with other employees and external parties Scheduling Requirements: 12 Hour Shifts - Required Flexibility in scheduling - Required Rotating Weekends - Required Holiday Shifts - Required Benefits Medical City Plano, offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
