UPMC is hiring a Professional Staff Nurse (RN) to join our Oncology team at the Community Osteopathic campus in Harrisburg! This is a full time, days/nights rotating position with an every third weekend and every other holiday commitment. Final candidates will be placed on the appropriate level of the career ladder based on education and experience. Purpose: The Professional Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse and a member of the care delivery team. The Professional Staff Nurse is responsible to set the standards for the level and quality of care. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. Good clinical judgment with critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care. Critical thinking skills necessary to exercise and to lead others in application of the nursing process. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Job details: - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting with rotation into the General OR when CVOR cases are unavailable - Day shift schedule Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:15 PM (5x8 hours) - Call requirements every 3rd day plus 1 to 2 weekends per month - Weekend coverage as needed - Holiday coverage as needed Requirements: - Active RN license (PA license or Compact required) - Minimum 2 years of RN experience required - BLS and ACLS certifications required - EPIC charting experience required - Community hospital experience preferred - Surgical specialty experience in vascular, cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedic, thoracic, or related procedures preferred Additional information: - May involve care for COVID-19 patients - Facility is tobacco and fragrance-free - Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract - No floating required - Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are considered local and may be offered at a lower bill rate - Travel pairs accepted, though matched schedules cannot be guaranteed
