VCU Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the inpatient Vascular Neurology/Stroke Service. The APP will provide comprehensive care for hospitalized stroke patients, including ED and inpatient consultations, daily rounding, admissions, discharges, and management of inpatient orders. The schedule includes minimal nights and rotating weekends, approximately 1–2 weekends per month. FNPs, AGACNPs, and PAs are encouraged to apply, and new graduates are welcome! The Advanced Practice Provider (APP- NP, PA) provides high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care. This position provides care to patients with acute and chronic complaints in collaboration with the Attending Physician. The Advanced Practice Provider provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or preventive healthcare service on a Collaborative APP/Physician team. The Advanced Practice Provider may perform any or all of the following: histories and physicals; order and interpret tests; make diagnosis; treat injuries/illness; assist with surgical procedures; counsel patient and/or prescribe medication and those invasive procedures defined by the Virginia Board of Medicine. The Advanced Practice Provider works collaboratively with the medical team to deliver organized, timely, cost effective and quality patient care. Reviews blocked and closed beds daily to complete daily closed bed report with bed numbers and reasons for closure. Monitors inpatient bed status and upgrades bed cleaning status via bed tracking system to expedite patient flow to a clean bed. Coordinates with Transport and Environmental Services supervisors to expedite patient flow. Monitors patient movement within and outside CH to ensure timely and efficient transfers of patients to avoid additional unnecessary length of stay. Coordinates the transport of patients to and from Capital Health facilities. Coordinates the transfer of patients that need emergent or non-emergent Neurological, Trauma, Cardiac or other specialized medical services at Capital Health. Facilitates physician to physician communications for admission to a Capital Health facility or out of Capital Health for transfer. Dispatches and tracks Wheelchair, BLS, and SCT services using computer aided dispatch (CAD) or outsource requests to contracted agencies. Requests Uber transportation for discharged patients. Position of Summary: The Director of Nursing (“DON”) is responsible for the overall management, supervision, and direction of the nursing services department. The Division of Hematology and Oncology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its multidisciplinary team, supporting both the new Chesterfield Pavilion ambulatory practice and VCU Health’s Mobile Oncology Unit. This role will provide comprehensive oncology care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, care coordination, education, and supervision of chemotherapy infusions. As part of the Mobile Oncology Unit, the APP will travel from Richmond to rural FQHC locations across Virginia, working closely with VCU Health oncology physicians through onsite and telehealth collaboration to expand access to high-quality cancer care. The Mobile Oncology Unit will feature 3–4 chemotherapy treatment chairs, an exam room, and telehealth capabilities. Expected mobile clinic hours are approximately 9:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with travel time to and from each site. Hours may vary based on location and clinic needs. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP- NP, PA) provides high-quality medical and/or surgical patient care.
