As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include: Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes Organizes and administers individualized age-specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred; graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required. At least one (1) year of Behavioral Health Nursing required. Medical/Surgical and or Telemetry nursing experience is preferred, as is Psychiatric-Mental Health certifications and/or national nursing certifications, and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. In this position, you will work 7a-7:30p. This position requires every other weekend and holiday required. The schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs. This position offers a Day Shift schedule and 36 working hours weekly, allowing you to build strong patient relationships while maintaining balance.
