More about our Labor & Delivery unit: The Labor & Delivery unit is a 29-bed unit handling approximately 3100 deliveries and 2100 ambulatory patients per year. This unit delivers care to a complex range of patients varying in age from newborns to teens, young adults and adults. Within the unit, there are 12 labor and delivery beds, 4 high-risk beds, 3 post-op recovery beds, 3 surgical suites and a 4-bed triage unit. Patients are triaged, admitted, stabilized, delivered or transferred to a level III facility as appropriate.

The RN OP Wound Care/HBO is a professional nurse who is responsible and accountable for providing evidence-based clinical care to designated patients utilizing the nursing process. Responsible to delegate tasks appropriately to other licensed and unlicensed health care team members. Responsible for providing assessment and coordination of the care of patients requiring wound care assessment, management, and treatment. The RN OP Wound Care/ HBO will work in an intake/wrap up role initially with potential opportunity to advance to case manager. This position may also act in the dual role of Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (HRN). In addition to responsibilities of the Outpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse, the HRN acts as the attendant and control operator of the hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) chamber under the direction of the HBO physician. Hyperbaric oxygen experience is not necessary for this position and additional training can be obtained within the role. Qualifications Education, Credentials, Licenses: Graduate from accredited School of Nursing If eligible, must have a Compact (multi-state) License in their primary state of residence. As HRN, able to complete or completion of Undersea Hyperbaric Medicine Society (UHMS) approved HBO Team Training Course. RN’s who were employed at TCH prior to January 2010, and have more than 20 years of experience as an RN are permitted to pursue their BSN on a voluntary basis. A MSN or DNP are not required but supersede the requirement for the BSN. YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: None required REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: The RN demonstrates the knowledge, abilities, and skills to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education.
