Utilizes computer systems effectively and efficiently for optimal patient care. Clinical Outcomes: Discusses patient findings and progress toward outcomes with physicians and other members of the health care team. Adheres to infection prevention and control policies and procedures. Adheres to high level of disinfectant, point of use, peel packs policies, and procedures. Perform related patient care functions such as taking temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure readings, wound care, may instruct patient in various self-administered treatment or procedures; obtain specimens; assures correct culture collection. Assist physician/advance practice providers or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments by selecting and passing instruments, providing support and restraint to the patient, draping, and other assistance as directed or required. Within scope observes and documents patients condition by gathering signs, symptoms, and reactions to therapy, to identify unexpected and/or significant findings, initiates appropriate emergency procedures as necessary, and reports unusual conditions to the registered nurse/advanced practice providers as established by policy and procedure in a timely manner. May volunteer to start and maintain intravenous flow rate with Certifications, notifies registered nurse/advanced practice/physician of any problems. May discontinue IV therapy except intra-cath and central venous lines. May volunteer to start perform venipuncture/blood withdrawal with Certifications. Collects and processes specimens per policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols. Provides non-compoicated teaching following the registered nurse/advanced practice provider/physician plan for education. Report any identified learning needs and discharge barriers. Ensures cleanliness of nursing module/station, patient exam room, and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection, routine testing, and other related methods. Provides a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff. Utilizes effective verbal and non-verbal forms of communication. Performs in other departments or modules to which assigned as required by the nursing/department administration to provide and maintain the established standards of care and safety. Performs departmental back-office workflows including but not limited to proactive office encounter, successfully closing care gaps, patient outreach, access and/or nurse visits. Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Supervisor provides operational and clinical supervision for a work area or unit. Responsible for front-line supervision of staff while on the unit. Collaborates with the Manager to implement plans addressing performance improvement, quality improvement, advancement of care delivery, and customer/staff satisfaction. Serves as a work area leader and develops systems to ensure efficient workflow and collaborative relationships with physicians and other members of the interprofessional team. Maintains open communication with manager regarding patients, family, personnel and departmental issues. The Emergency Department is a 46-bed tertiary care facility with an annual volume of nearly 100,000 visits, a dedicated fast track area and two trauma bays. The patient population ranges from neonates to adolescents, and a large number of these patients have high acuity and complex medical conditions. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in pediatrics preferred. Expert clinical knowledge of unit’s patient population. Ability to lead others. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing. Education/Licensure/Certification: Baccalaureate degree and California licensure in respective discipline required. For nursing: California RN License, Current American Heart Association BLS and PALS Card. National Certification Required. Schedule: 4 shifts per week / 10hr shifts. Work hours and work days will vary plus variable weekend on call requirements.

Hiring NOC shift POSITION SUMMARY This position is for those that already hold a CNA license. Assist residents in dressing as necessary. • Assist in preparing residents for meals (taking to/from dining room, serving trays, placing bibs, assisting in feeding or cutting food, removal of trays, supervision in dining room, etc.). • Serve nourishment in accordance with established facility procedures. • Feed residents who cannot feed themselves. • Assure that resident’s food is accessible and self-help devices are available as needed. • Prepare residents for therapy, activities, physician visits, religious services, etc., to include transporting residents to/from such activities. • Keep incontinent residents clean and dry as possible at all times. Change bed linens, diapers and clothing as often as necessary. • Do not permit residents to smoke in bed. • Assure that the nurse’s call system is attached to the bed and within easy reach at all times when residents are bedfast. • Answer residents’ call lights promptly. • Check for food in residents’ room. Ensure that food is kept in a sealed container. • Report all complaints to the Charge Nurse. • Report any resident abuse immediately (ie., harsh/abusive language, unnecessary roughness, etc.) • Report any medication found in the resident’s room. Take to the Charge Nurse immediately. • Report all hazardous conditions and faulty equipment to the Charge Nurse immediately. • Report any bruise, skin tears, incidents or accidents to the Charge Nurse immediately. • Attend in-service educational programs, on the job training programs and meetings as directed. • Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator. Keep dentures clean and soaked with Efferdent after dinner. • Record resident’s food and nourishment intake as directed. • Perform after meal care as required – cleaning resident’s hands, face, clothing, dentures, etc. • Assist residents to/from bathroom. Offer bedfast residents bedpans and urinals. Clean and store such equipment after each use (document Intake and Output as directed). • Check and document bowel movements and character of stools every shift. • Bathe residents as assigned and in accordance with established facility procedures (encourage showers and other self-help measures/activities). • Comb and brush resident’s hair daily. Shampoo hair on shower days. • Clip and trim fingernails. • Shave male residents daily or as needed. • Keep hair under arms and face on female residents clean-shaven as necessary or instructed. Trim hair in nose and ears as needed. • Observe and report the presence of reddened areas on bony prominences. • Keep drainage bag off the floor when resident is in bed or in wheelchair. • Apply Vaseline or A & D ointment to dry skin in accordance with established policies. • Move and turn bedfast residents at least every two hours and record such information on CNA notes. • Observe disoriented and comatose residents and notify Charge Nurse immediately. • Apply postural support properly. Check with Charge Nurse for type of restraint to be used. • Apply hand roll or splint to residents with contractures as outlined within the facility’s established policies and procedures. • Follow infection control procedures in accordance with established facility policy when isolation techniques are necessary. • Chart required information every shift. • Complete Intake and Output documentation on all residents with orders before the end of each shift. • Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator.
