The CVOR Operating Room RN Service Line Coordinator functions within their primary role of Circulator and/or Scrub with the additional responsibility of Service Coordinator. S/he complies and completes accurate and timely information on the Doctor’s Preference Card by creating new cards for the new procedures, and new surgeons and updating cards for changes in surgeon’s preferences of supplies, instrumentation and equipment. S/he is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Specialty Service; Oversees equipment/supply needs; Exhibits a mastery of nursing or scrubbing functions in the specialty service to advise and teach other patient care team members; Functions as a liaison between Executive Director/specialty team/and the medical staff; and coordinates all activities in their assigned specialty services. S/he maintains effective working relations with co-workers, nurses and physicians, outside services and other staff members in order to ensure workflow effectiveness. S/he creates an image of quality service and demonstrates critical thinking, problem solving, tact, diplomacy, discretion and judgment. Oversee a cross training program with the main OR and support the robotic heart program. Oversee the development and implementation of new programs for the cardiac service line. Job Overview The Medical Assistant (MA) II functions as an AltaMed ambassador at the assigned clinic, PSC, or Patient Registry team. The MA is welcoming and attentive to the needs of all patients and creates a positive patient experience by managing expectations while demonstrating compassion and respect. The MA assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures and technical/clerical support services in the clinical setting. The MA builds relationships with patients, listening to them and gaining their trust. The MA demonstrates compassion and respect and will be proactive in managing patients’ expectations. In addition, the Medical Assistant documents all specialties in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and assists with administrative responsibilities that include providing feedback on Back-Office processes to the Nursing Supervisor/Manager. Lastly, the MA assists in achieving department goals and objectives by providing support and guidance to the Medical Assistant team as a mentor and trainer. If working at the Patient Service Center, the MA provides other duties over the telephone. Minimum Requirements A Medical Assistant certificate, along with a high school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of 1 year of experience as a back office Medical Assistant preferred in the outpatient setting, medical practice, or clinic setting. Phlebotomy certified preferred Nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification, preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location, strongly preferred. A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
