QUALIFICATIONS Graduate Nurse (T&RC) Open Competitive: possession of limited permit as a graduate nurse in New York State; or eligible to enter examination for licensure as a registered professional nurse in New York State. Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State. Registered Nurse 2 (T&RC) Promotion: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State and one year of service as a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC). Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience in the acute care specialty area. Substitution: a bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of postlicensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience. Registered Nurse Supervisor 1 (T&RC) Promotion: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State and two years of service as a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC); or one year of service as a Registered Nurse 2 (T&RC). Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State; and three years of post-licensure acute care clinical nursing experience. Substitution: a bachelor’s degree in nursing may substitute for one year of postlicensure clinical nursing experience; and a master’s degree in nursing may substitute for two years of post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
