Children’s Minnesota, Minneapolis Primary Care Clinic is seeking a .8 FTE bilingual Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team. The Minneapolis clinic is a hospital-based pediatric primary care clinic offering outpatient services to a population of patients (infants through adolescents) from urban and suburban areas of the surrounding metro areas. Families receiving care in the clinic speak a variety of primary languages. The clinic provides a range of services, from well-child care to walk-in care, as well as educational and outreach programs. Providers care for children with complex medical and psychosocial issues, manage acute and chronic childhood illnesses, and provide parental guidance for childhood development and nutrition. We offer wrap-around services in our clinic, including Integrated Behavioral Health providers, interpreter services, a clinical pharmacist on-site, access to Adolescent Health and Gender health providers, along with resource navigators through a program called Community Connect. In the clinic, we see approximately 20,000 visits annually staffed by 9 physicians and 5 nurse practitioners. Advanced practice providers provide a range of services, from well-child care, sports physicals, management of acute and chronic illnesses, and addressing nutritional, developmental, and behavioral concerns. Providers should have a particular interest in providing trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, and culturally competent care. Due to the diverse needs of the populations we serve, proficient in Somali or Spanish is preferred. Applicants must hold a lactation consultation certification from IBCLE or commit to obtaining certification within two years of starting their role. Job Overview Fairview is looking for an upbeat and energetic Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department at Fairview Ridges Hospital located in Burnsville, MN. The hospital is just 20 minutes south of Minneapolis, MN near the 35E and 35 W conjunctions! It has been providing state-of-the art care and community services to the residents of the scenic Minnesota Valley since 1984. Our ED is a Level 3 Trauma Center. We have 45 beds and a yearly census of approximately 67,000 and growing! Team members include Board Certified Emergency Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, ER Techs, Health Unit Coordinators, transport, and Case Managers. Emergency Department Registered Nurses provide emergency nursing care for a diversified population of all age distributions (infant to geriatrics) and all problem types in a very lively Emergency Room. The Fairview Ridges ER processes 67,000 cases per year, with an average of 184 patients seen daily. The position duties include assessment, care planning, interventions, and instructing. New positions added due to volumes/growth. The patient population served by the Emergency Department consists of newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients requiring or seeking medical care. Twenty percent of our ED volume is pediatric. Schedule: This position is 48 hours per pay period, 8-hour day shifts with every other weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Clinic Hours of Operation are Monday–Thursday: 7:00AM–6:00PM and Friday: 7:00AM–5:00PM. NO WEEKENDS! This position is eligible for up to a $2,000 New Hire Sign On Bonus! As a member of the care team, the Medical Assistant supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high-level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The Medical Assistant will gather information and documents to support the patient visit. The medical assistant is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. Responsibilities Delivers care as delegated by the physician/authorized practitioner or RN, to assigned patient population, or individual patient. Follows the patient’s plan of care. Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, patient/family preferences, provider schedule, in collaboration with the physician/authorized practitioner and other health care team members. Performs high and low risk technical procedures defined by the clinical setting includes medication administration, assistance with CPR, assistance with procedures and may include lab draws. Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating physician/authorized practitioner/RN. Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patient.
