The Telemetry Unit at East Campus Medical Center located on the 5th floor provides care for adult medical and surgical patients who require a higher level of monitoring, including continuous cardiac telemetry. Common admitting diagnoses include cardiac and cardiovascular conditions, respiratory, neurological, renal, and metabolic disorders, as well as post–general surgery care. The acuity and complexity of this patient population require nursing staff to possess strong clinical judgment and specialized knowledge related to disease progression and advanced monitoring. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously consistent with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. RN License issued by the State of California. BLS and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to get UCSD ART within six (6) months of hire date. Minimum one (1) year of recent (within 1 year) inpatient acute care RN experience at the Telemetry level of care or higher acuity. Assists the TPD in coaching and educating the non-nurse registrars on registry changes, data entry errors and timeliness of chart completion. Actively participates in report and documentation preparation for American College of Surgeons and County Site Surveys. The majority of the trauma nurse registrar's responsibility (90% or greater) is related to the registry and as described above. The trauma nurse registrar may be required to assist with performance improvement initiatives as the need arises. Works collaboratively with the TPD, Trauma Medical Director, and the Trauma Performance Improvement coordinator to identify and trend quality issues. Job Summary: Under direct supervision of an RN or provider performs routine patient care, excluding administration of IV medications and venipuncture, following established policies, procedures and standards; follows Quality of Service Standards; follows Universal Precautions. Join Rady Children’s Surgical Services department as Operating Room Nurse! As the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare and the region’s only designated level 1 pediatric trauma center, our Surgical Services department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to perform more than 20,000 surgical procedures annually! An operating room (OR) nurse is a very important member of the surgical services team. As a member of surgical services team, the OR nurse will work alongside the surgeon and other surgical team members to provide optimal safe patient care.
